At this point, it just seems to me like Damon and Elena are a foregone conclusion and the writers are just creating discord to keep things interesting. Like the upsoming episode 4x19 where everyone goes to prom and a psychopatic Elena decides to mess with Stefan (such a Katherine move).Personally, Klaus & Caroline are my favorite part of the show.I just like their interactions so much that it will feel like something is missing from either shows if they're not together.
I will watch the Originals because Klaus is just too fascinating. The way he goes from a sadistic killer to a misunderstood man in love is just too interesting. I hope Caroline joins him, althought not because she discovers herself madly in love with him all of the sudden.They don't seem ready for a deep relationship: Klaus needs to open up and be more human while Caroline needs to become more mature. She has grown a lot since she became a vampire, but her relationship with Tyler should not be so important. Let me explain... She will graduate from high school soon and she is an immortal being. Getting so wrapped up in a relationship, thinking it's going to last forever, when your not even out of high school can't be healthy.The constant danger and the many deaths surrounding them make the relationship seem more solid and permanent than it is. She has a looong life in front of her but she is so ready to bind herself to him forever that I think it is mostly because she thinks they will probably die soon if they stay in this town. They are basically clinging to each other in a storm. When Klaus swooped in and robbed her of Tyler's strenght, she found herself alone against too many threats she's not ready to face. In a way, I'm glad Klaus made him run because Caroline, while a strong woman, has never really been alone and maybe she can discover that she is even stronger than she thinks.
